The most important purpose of fasting
Why is God keeping us hungry? Does He need it, if not and what purpose does He have? Such a question may come to mind of many. So what happens when you don’t eat and drink water at Ramadan (from sunrise until sunset)? What good does this do for God? Likewise, how does this benefit us? Why did Allah order us to fast and fasting is included in the five pillars of Islam? Why may God have ordered us to do this? Such a question may occur in a person’s mind.
They say “Everybody is fasting, what we shall do? Therefore, I am fasting, too. We can be in such a psychology. Do not forget “Fasting in Ramadan is one of the main conditions of Islam. Let’s not forget, the conditions of Islam are five. Fasting is one of these and it is very important. So it is very valuable worship. It is not just ordinary worship. Although none of the prayers are ordinary, fasting is completely different. There is a lot of wisdom in fasting in Ramadan. What did we say? Fasting has deep wisdom and many benefits.
