Something good must be behind this evil
One day the Sultan took his Grand-Vizier and some soldiers with him hunting. After some search, they found a hunt, a deer. As the Sultan took the rifle to kill the hunt, the trigger was somehow jammed and cut his finger. The Sultan yelled from pain while the soldiers were trying to stop his finger bleeding. Then the Sultan directed his looks to the Grand-Vizier to see what he had to say about this terrible event.
The Grand-Vizier said calmly: “There must be something good behind this evil.”
The Sultan was angry with this cold and meaningless remark and told the soldiers to take him to the dungeon. He said: “Stupid words! I lost my finger, what good can be behind this.”
After some time the Sultan was feeling better and set off for hunting in his great forest. This time again things turned evil and the Sultan with his soldiers were captured by cannibals.
The cannibals made a big fire, then put a huge pot onto it and they were throwing the soldiers inside the pot after examining their bodies one by one. Then it was the Sultan’s turn to go into the pot. However, they rejected to put the Sultan into the boiling pot because he had a missing finger. It was a taboo to eat someone , with missing organ. They set him free.
